The yoga retreat in Bali fifteen years ago was tough. I crawled into my small self and wallowed in doubt and self-pity. I questioned why I was there. The answer came soon enough during a morning class. “If you don’t believe in yourself, who will?” the teacher asked. A momentary silence befell the class as the question took root in my heart. That morning, I took the first step in that difficult posture. I did not get far but that first step broke the barrier of fear. I realized then that yoga is more than a physical discipline. It is a life affirming, life expanding practice…and a teacher who inspires is a gift. The path to deepen my practice was laid. The spark to teach was ignited.
Teaching yoga gives me joy and meaning. I am blessed to have had great teachers throughout the years. There is much to share with you. Come join the class and see if you will be inspired!
